Promenade du Port - The Supermarket
The Supermarket
A New Space is Born

The Supermarket is a four-storey blank canvas; a collection of white-cube spaces that showcase experiences and product unique to the location and season - environments that will never look the same twice. It is a constantly surprising, regularly changing, curated collection of trunk shows and exhibitions showcasing limited edition and one-off retail pieces.

For its debut season, The Supermarket will present a focus on L.A.-based creators and contemporary Californian style. From 16th-28th July, some of the most exciting small-scale luxury artisans working in America today will present and retail new, exclusive work: The Elder Statesman, presenting richly detailed and hand-embroidered fashion inspired by the Mediterranean landscape; Californian hatmaker Nick Fouquet and handmade sneaker brand No.One. "Coastal neon cool" is how the triumvirate of guest designers and craftsmen describe the aesthetic they are bringing to Europe, mixing SoCal luxe with Sardinian aristocracy. The mesmerising landscapes of the infinite Californian highway meets cocktails at sunset on the Med.

The Elder Stateman

The Elder Statesmen was founded in 2007 by Greg Chait, with a personal and vibrant collection of knits from the simplest pair of socks to richly ornate blankets and beyond. The aesthetic is eclectic and international: from tribal to tie-dye. Craft defines everything that The Elder Statesmen stands for - artisan disciplines and meticulous construction are as important to Chait as "the look". For summer 2018 Chait brings a collection of new work to The Supermarket inspired by the colours of the island of Sardinia - menswear and womenswear produced with a range of visually striking original artwork and hand embroidery that speak to the coastline and landscape.

Nick Fouquet

Nick Fouquet was born in New York but set up his business in Venice, California seven years ago, after a chance encounter with a cowboy on the street. Fouquet was fascinated by his classic Stetson, and the man's interest in the culture of old school millinery. He had a story to tell that would change Fouquet's life and become a part of history. There were just 30 traditional hat makers left in the US and Fouquet was inspired to become number 31. Today, Fouquet's one-of-a-kind hats are worn by Bob Dylan, Justin Bieber, Madonna and Anna Dello Russo. For his debut at The Supermarket, Fouquet showcases his classic beaver felt pieces alongside a capsule collection of straw hats and accessories
